According to local historian a number of people in this cemetery were first buried in a small cemetery overlooking Ol Millersport rd. Among those moved were George and Catherine Arnold. In Front of this cemetery at one time was Gideon United Brethern Church. On 8/1/1850 for the sum of one dollar, Jacob Arnold (Georges son) and Rachel Arnold were granted this land for the purpose of a UB church and burial Ground. There are many empty spaces in this small, abondoned cemetery and at one time horses were allowed to run thu it and they knocked down many stones. Neighbors reset many stones and cleaned up the cemetry. Some stones may not be in their original place. This cemetery was copied by Charles Waggoner in 1940's. The cemetery is now handled by city of Lancaster.
