WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Ruth Rumley Weavil, 92, died Monday evening at the Springwood Care Center. Mrs. Weavil was born September 16, 1919 in Rural Hall to Eugene Walter and Carrie Parrish Rumley. She was a member of Friedland Moravian Church and a long time employee of P.H. Hanes Knitting Company. Mrs. Weavil was preceded in death by six brothers; Bob, Joe, Charles, E.W., John and Richard Rumley and one sister, Elizabeth Anderson. Surviving is her sister-in-law, Violet Swain; nephews, Dale, Ken, Rick, Johnny and Benny Rumley and nieces, Dianne Weedle, Wanda Sides, Belva Jean Sattenfield, Sherry Warren and Mary Katherine Jolly. The family will receive friends at Salem Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. A graveside service will follow in King Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Darrell Hampton.
