Irvin Victor “Vic” Young, 92, formerly of Atchison, KS died Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at Paramount Health Care in Eagle, ID.

Vic has been cremated; the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with services at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Camp Creek United Methodist Church, followed by inurnment at Camp Creek Cemetery.

Vic was born September 6, 1923 on the family farm near Melvern, KS, the son of Vinson and Agnes Andre Young. He was the seventh of nine children. He attended grade school thru the 8th grade in rural Melvern, where he was taught by his oldest sister.

Vic was a retired farmer and stockman, farming over 50 years west of Atchison, KS near Shannon. He also served on the Camp Creek Cemetery Board and the Shannon Grade School Board, and was a member of the Atchison County COOP, Farm Bureau, Jackson County COOP and Brown-Atchison Electric COOP.

On November 27, 1949, Vic married Virginia Lee Kout at the Camp Creek United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death July 12, 2001. He later married Clarice Pickering December 23, 2002. She survives and resides in Eagle, ID.

Survivors include five sons: Keith (Sandy) Young, Effingham; Douglas (Eileen) Young, Perry; Kenneth (Nancy) Young, Effingham; Merrell (Vonda) Young, Atchison and Daron (Ann) Young, Cummings; ten grandchildren, Jody Guetterman, Holly Jeschke, Ryan Young, Angela Heindl, Theresa Young, Jennifer Figge, Kristin Purdy, Alison Howard, Brian Young and Amy Young; seventeen-great grandchildren and two siblings, Duane Young, Melvern and Donita Hotchkiss, Topeka. His parents, four sisters-Eunice Michel, Orpha Bechtle, Laurice Bate, and Janice King and two brothers-Andre and Raymond Young preceded him in death.
