Graveside service for Leo Dean Thornley of Henderson, Texas, will be held on Wednesday, December 4, at 1:00 pm at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home.

Mr. Thornley was born January 21, 1911 in Colbert, Oklahoma, the son of Oscar and Lizzie "Smith" Thornley. He was raised in the Mudsand Route area of Choctaw County. He married Mattie V. Herman on October 20, 1934 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He moved with his family to Andrews, Texas in 1945 where he worked in the oil industry servicing and distribution until he retired in 1976 and returned to the Hugo area. In 1982 he moved to Livingston, Texas where he lived until moving to Henderson, Texas in 1982. Mr. Thornley passed away on December 2 at the age of 85.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Cleo Thornley in 1939, and three un-named children; one sister, Mildred Thornley; one brother, Cecil Thornley.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Mattie V. Thornley of the home; four sons: Johnny Thornley of Livingston, Texas; Roy Calvin Thornley of Charleston, SC; Gary Dean Thornley of Alvin, Texas; Leo Thornley Jr. of Henderson, Texas; three sisters: Reba Wiggins, Helen Jensen, and Freda Shipp of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers: Ray Thornley of Las Vegas, NV, and Cleo Thornley of Hazel Green, AL; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
