Herbert McLaughlin Dies At Hus Home East of Salamonia
Herbert McLaughlin, lifelong resident of Jay County, dies Sunday morning at 8 o'clock at his home one and one-fourth mile eastv of Salamonia, deathy being due to a stroke suffered Tuesday night.
Mr. Laughlin was born April 10, 1885 the son of James G. and Martha (Mosier) McLaughlin, being 56 years, 1 month, and 15 days of age at the time of death. On December 19, 1907, he was married to Ethel Shoemaker, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Carl McLaughlin of Portland and Donald McLaughlin at home; two daughters, Hazel, wife of Charles Wortz of Fort Recovery and Ruby, wife of Reuben Prescott of Union City; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hensel of Salamonia, Nora Jones of Cloverdale, Ohio, and Mrs. Albert Scholer of three miles, east of Salamonioa and two grandchildren, Carolyn Sue and Charlene N. Wortz.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Salamonia Methodist Church with the Rev. James Wallace assissted by Rev. S.A. Armstrong officiatong. Internment will be in the Salamonia cemetery. The body was removed to Williamson and Sons funeral home for burial prepartions and was taken to the late residence Sunday evening.
