97- Year Old Woman Dies at Home of Near Salamonia

Mrs. Martha McLaughlin, 97, died this morning at 7:25 o'clock at the home of her son, Herbert McLaughlin, two miles northeast of Salamonia. A probable fracture of the hip and infirmities of age were the cause of death.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Jay County May 17, 1842 and at time of death was 97 years, 5 months and 2 days of age. She was the last surviving member of her family. Four brothers, three sisters, three sons, one daughter, and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
The following children survive Ambrose McLaughlin of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. M.B. Hensel of Madison Township, Mrs. Albert Scholer of east of Salamonia, Mrs. Charles Jones of North Dayton, Ohio, and Herbert McLaughlin at whose home she died. There are also twenty-one grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Salamonia Methodist church. Rev S.A. Armstrong will officiate. Internment will be made in the Salamonia Cemetery.
