Obituary, published in The Moultrie Observer:

"Nettie Bates Newton McCready, 90, of Moultrie, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

"Born Jan. 18, 1917, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Bates and Sallie Mae Croft Bates. She retired from the Moultrie Cotton Mill and was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She was first married to the late Warren Julian Newton and then to the late Stanley McCready.

"Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Stimely and Earlene Lokey and husband Ken; two sons, Warren George Newton and wife Teresa and Clem Franklin Newton; a sister, Ann Sanders; a niece, Margie Henderson; several half brothers and sisters; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

"Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements."
