Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Ardis and Annie Pritchard Ardis.
She was previously married, first to the late James Thomas Chandler, then to the late William Barnes, and then to the late James R Nichols.
Mrs. Nichols attended Calvary Nazarene Church and was retired from The Campbell Soup Company.
She is survived by a son and two daughters; and, was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley Jean Chandler Patrick.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Reverend Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial followed at Sumter Cemetery.
