Born in Sumter County, a son of Lewis Levy Ardis and Annie Pritchard Ardis. He was the husband of Sarah Mae Turbeville Ardis of the Turbeville area of Clarendon County. He served in the United States Navy. The application for his bronze marker headstone was approved and prepared for shipment to Sumter Cemetery on January 5, 1954.

In 2016, the contributor confirmed the burial with the Sumter Cemetery Association office; however, neither the office manager or the contributor, searching together, was able to locate the marker. Search to be continued....
