Death of Stuart J. Callahan.
Stuart J. Callahan, aged 18 years, of Stonyfork, died in the Blossburg hospital Sunday evening at 10:30 o'clock, following an operation for ulcer of the stomach. He appeared to be in his usual health, when he was suddenly seized Saturday night and was taken to the hospital at 9:20 a.m. on Sunday.
He was a son of Andrew A. Callahan, of Stonyfork, who survives him … the following brothers and sisters – Ina, wife of Otto Smithgall of Wellsboro, R.D. 2; Leonard of Corning; Ruth, wife of Elder Bryan, and Lelia, wife of Gordon Furst, New Castle; William, of Wellsboro, R.D. 2; Theo, Fay and Elizabeth, at home. He was a member of the Junior class of the Wellsboro High School and was deservedly popular. His untimely death is deeply regretted by a host of friends.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock, interment at the West Branch cemetery.

The funeral of the late Stuart James Callahan was held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church at Draper, Rev. George Stoddaard officiating. Six of his Wellsboro High School classmates acted as pallbearers - Kenneth B Moore, Werden Beckwith, Elwood Griswold, Erwin Shaw, Percy Quimby & Charles Orr. He was a member of the Stonyfork Grange and filled the office of Assistant Steward. He was also a member of the Junior class of the Wellsboro High School. He was born Feb 7, 1906, the youngest son of Andrew A Callahan, who survives him; also the following brothers & sisters - Mrs. Otto Smithgall of Wellsboro RD 6; Mrs J. Elder Bryan & Mrs Gordon F Furst of Newcastle, Pa; Leonard Callahan of Corning; William, Theo, Faye & Elizabeth at home.
