Gladys Adell (Gould) Ross, 78, of 502 S. 7th St., died at her home at 7 PM Wednesday, May 22, 1968, apparently of a heart attack. She had been in failing health for some time but death was unexpected.

Mrs. Ross was born in New York, reared at Oakland, CA, and in 1912 came to Lafayette. She attended Stanford University and University of California. In 1912 at Oakland, she was married to Linn Carnahan Ross, who before his death in 1949 operated the Ross Machine Company.

Mrs. Ross was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, a charter member of Lafayette Country Club, Home Hospital Auxiliary, and Lafayette Art Association. She was a member of the Thursday Club, and in earlier years she was active in hospital fund raising projects.

Surviving are three daughters, Anna (Mrs. John) Alexander, Eleanor (Mrs. Wayne) Burns, both of Indianapolis, and Gladys (Mrs. Vern) Dimond of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Charles Easterbrook of Arlington, VA; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence from 6 to 9 PM Friday. Services there at 10 AM Saturday, the Rev. J. Dayton McCormick officiating; internment Rest Haven Memorial Park. Soller-Baker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
