NICHOLAS LUCE DIES IN SUDDEN COLLAPSE
Aged Resident Nods to City Officials and Drops Dead Before City Hall
Nicholas D. Luce turned from the sidewalk in front of the city hall early this morning to walk through the garage into police headquarters. He had just nodded to Commissioner Kelly and Sewer Inspector Van Dyke, who stood a few feet away. Luce uttered a little cry and fell to the pavement, dead.
Heart disease or apoplexy caused the elderly man's death, as it had caused his elder brother's death some time ago.(James R. Luce his brother dwebb) The body was carried into the garage and taken away by John F. Jerread's assistants.
Nicholas Luce, who was 81 years of age, managed the Oslo hotel, a small lodging house at 1009 1/2 Hewitt avenue. He has a daughter, a Mrs. McDonald, living near Monroe, and a son, a shingleweaver, in Everett.
