J.B. Luce, as stated at the time of his death, came to his end as the result of heart disease. Coroner Smith had no idea that unnatural causes were responsible for the old gentleman's death, though under the law he was compelled to hold an autopsy. The funeral of J.R. Luce will be held at Jerread's chapel tomorrow at 2:30 p.m., Rev. W.E. Randall conduction the services. The remains will be interred in Evergreen cemetery. Services at the grave will be under the auspices of John Buford Post G.A.R. There will be a special car for friends. J.R. Luce was a native of Rochester, NY, having been born there April 5, 1828, and was at the time of his death 84 yers old. He entered the service of the United States in the Civil war, as a private in the Third battery, Wisconsin light artillery, in the fall of 1861 and was discharged in 1865 on account of wounds received in action. He joined the local post in November 1894 and was a member in good standing at the time of his death. He leaves a wife, four sons, two daughters and two brothers.
