STRATFORD - Nettie Johnson, 88, of Stratford died Monday, December 15, 1986 at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Stratford, with the Rev. Richard Russell officiating. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery, south of Stratford.

Nettie Johnson was born June 24, 1898, in Stratford to Carl and Clara Hanson Carlstedt. She married Garrett Oscar Johnson on November 22, 1919.

She is survived by two daughters, Marcelle Bergman of Gowrie and Phyllis (Mrs. Verne) Peterson of Wathena, Kan.; two sons, Phillip of Jewell and Marvin E. of Stratford; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Carlstedt and Clifford Carlstedt, both of Stratford; two sisters, Anna Peterson of Stratford and Elsie Anderson of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one daughter, two grandchildren, one great-grandson, one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of the Stratford American Legion Auxiliary.
