Retired Peardale Rancher Succumbs.
Richard ROLLINS, 85, who spent many of his productive years as a foreman in the oil industry centering in Kern county and later retired to a quiet farm life in Nevada county, died at this home 138 Empire street at 1:15 o’clock this morning.
ROLLINS was born in Iowa, June 23, 1863, making his age at the time of his passing 85 years, six months and 25 days.
Funeral services will be held next Monday, January 24 at the Myers Grass Valley Mortuary at 2pm with cremation following. Rev. Frank H Buck of the Episcopal Church will be attending clergyman.
ROLLINS and his wife had been living on Empire street but two years, moving in from Peardale, where they had resided and operated a ranch property for 12 years. He was a former member of the Peardale Farm Center.
Surviving are a wife, Mrs. Lola E. ROLLINS, Grass Valley; a foster son Ross FRANCIS, Grass Valley; a sister Mrs. Cora GAGE [GATES], New York and a number of nieces and nephews.
