Mrs. Florrie E. Ballard, 81, a 65-year resident of Bloomington, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in a local hospital after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Ballard was born July 14, 1896, in Gonzales. She had also lived in Kerrville. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. John Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Whitfield, Coda Wynn, Tommy Gideon, C. R. Appling, Aubrey Rush and Martin Robles. Honorary pallbearers will be John Pesnell, Boyd Ballard, Jesse Ballard, Macie Bond, James Houston and Earnest Winkler.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the First Baptist church of Bloomington.
Survivors include the husband, Jesse F. Ballard of Bloomington; three daughters, Mrs. E. G. Winkler of Bloomington, Mrs. Opal Bond of Houston and Mrs. JoAnn Houston of LaMarque; two sons, Boyd F. Ballard of Texas City and Jesse Lee Ballard of Bayclit; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Bradley of Lampasas; two brothers, Oscar Lowry of Gatesville and M. G. Lowry of Killeen; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her parents, William T. Lowry and Anna Rebecca Smith.
