Mrs. Olive J. Loe, 81, Larwill, died at 5:15 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she had been a patient one week. Prior to that, she was hospitalized at Whitley County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 1, 1901, In Washington Township, a daughter of David and Cerena Cormany DeWitt. Her formative years were spent in Huntington County where she completed her education.
On January 10, 1931, she married James E. Loe. They lived in Larwill. Mr. Loe preceded her in death June 6, 1975.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Imogene Tylor, Huntington; Mrs. Arthur (Netha) Walter, R 9; Mrs. Kenneth (Catherine) Sheets, Larwill; four sons: James Loe Plymouth; Franklin Loe, South Whitley; Arthur and Dale Loe, both of Larwill; two step daughters: Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Ulrey, Warsaw; Mrs. Leo (Alice) Mort, Pierceton; 44 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Clarence DeWitt, Huntington; three sisters: Mrs. Lawrence Snyder, Roanoke; Mrs. Raymond Webster, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Evelyn Etchyson, Churubusco.
Two sisters, Hazel and Myrtle, and three brothers, Ray, Harvey and Lawrence, are deceased.
Calling at Smith and Sons Funeral Home will be after 2 p.m. Sunday. The Funeral will be there at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Graham L. Kleespie officiating. Internent will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
