He was a member of the Church of the Brethren of St. James.
Mr. Houser is surived by his wife, Hazel Pauline Hewett Houser; daughters, Mrs. Howard Taylor of Hagerstown, Mrs. Lester Baker of Abbottstown, Mrs. Clarence Neiman of Hampton, Pa., Mrs. Charles Marquet of New Oxford, Mrs. Pasquale Levy of Abbottstown; sons, Markwood E. of Hagerstown; Richard L. of Thomasville, Pa., Edgar G. Jr. of Dover, Pa., Paul, at home, James L. of New Oxford, Pa., 36 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy M. Houser of Hagerstown.
Services will be at the Feiser Funeral Home in New Oxford at 8 p.m. this evening. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. James Neff will officiate.
