Mrs. Kolz had been a resident of Montrose since 1952. She was born Velma F. Dolan, Oct 16, 1908, at Garden City, Kan. She spent her childhood in Cortez and Durango areas.
She married Henry H. Kolz June 1, 1929, at Durango. He survives.
Prior to moving to Montrose, Mrs. Kolz had been a resident of Allison near Cortez. Her interests included gardening and her family. She attended the Montrose Church of the Nazarene.
One daughter, Ruth Kolz, and five brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include on daughter, Berneeda Kolz of Montrose; four sons, Joseph of Bayfield and Harold, Merle and Harvey, all of Montrose, one brother, Lowell Dolan of Durango; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, arranged by Montrose Valley Funeral Home, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Montrose Church of the Nazarene, 705 S 12th St., Montrose with the Rev. Dawain Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Cemetery.
