James D. Bannan, 78, of 616 S. 40th St., died Wednesday at his home. He was born in Minneapolis and had lived in Tacoma since 1912.
He was a retired pipefitter, having worked for many years for the Washington Gas and Electric Co. He was a member of the Pipefitters Union and the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann; two sons, James T., of Vancouver, WA, and William M., of Tacoma; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Muehlenbruch, Mrs. Evelyn Hutchinson and Mrs. Betty Bader, all of Tacoma, Sister Margaret Bannan, OSF, of San Francisco, and Mrs. Patricia Pedersen, of Richland; four brothers, Arthur, of Hoquiam, Joseph, of Blaine, William, of Tacoma and Thomas, of Bremerton; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
