Husband of Loretta O. (Thompson) Wright. He much preferred to be called H.M. and was called "Dad" by the family. He originally was a telegrapher for the railroad in Lewistown, Ohio. Later, he owned and operated a confectionary in Sidney, Ohio where he made his own candies and ice cream and sold his wife's pies. H. M. purchased some fancy candies and chocolates from Cincinnati and Chicago. He later moved to Indiana where he was an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha (in New Castle and Anderson, Indiana). He was a cigar smoker, giving it up in later life for chewing tobacco until the family prevailed on him to give that up as well. His father had a keen interest in the classics which led him to name one of his sons Homer Marcellus.
