J.C. "Clyde" Carter, 75, of Crossville, passed away March 13, 2002. Funeral services were conducted March 16 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with burial in Davis Cemetery. Pastor Elmer Graham and Pastor Clyde Lewis officiated.
Mr. Carter was born March 30, 1926, in Overton County, TN, the son of Barlow and Allie Hall Carter.
He was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia West of Monterey; sisters, Christine Powers, Rosetta Adams and Mary Clark, all of Crossville, and Pearl Wyatt of Pikeville; several grandchildren; and special Christian friend, Lora Lee Davis of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Clyde Carter Jr.
Pallbearers were Junior Maynard, Jessie Hyder, Jeff Smith, Gary Wyatt, Bill Maynard, Bill Norris, Ray Young and Raymond Maynard.
