Lula Farmer, 73 of Kansas City North, passed away Sept. 19, 2012. Lula was born June 19, 1939 to John Edward and Ollie (Freeman) in Hector, AR. Lula graduated from Deer School and moved to Kansas City, where she met the love of her life, William Farmer, a veteran returning from the Navy who happened to grow up a few miles from where she did, but neither knew each other before they met here in Kansas City. They were united in marriage in November of 1957 and to this union four children were born: Ed, Terry, Rhonda, and Darrell. Survivors include her beloved husband, William of the home; daughter, Rhonda Farmer, Plano TX; sons; Ed (Faith) Farmer of Kansas City, Terry (Tammie) Farmer, Kearney, Darrell Farmer, Kansas City; granddaughters; Courtney (Troy) Shanks, Platte City, Rebecca (Michael) Highfill, Kansas City, Christina (Eduardo) Farmer, Kansas City, Brittany Farmer, Gladstone, Stormy Farmer, Kansas City, Brianna Lee, Plano, TX, and Chelsea Farmer, Kearney; grandsons, Bradley Farmer, Kansas City, Zachary (Kayla) Farmer, Liberty, Cody Farmer, Overland Park, and Zane Farmer, Kansas City; greatgrandchildren, Tyler, Payton, Madilynne; Dayton, Cristian; and Cooper; with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Cashatt Family Funerals; 7516 NW Prairie View Rd; Platte Woods, MO with visitation at 12 p.m. prior to service.
