T/Sgt (USAF Ret) George E. Rudder, 79, of Independence, MO, passed away June 27, 2012. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., followed by a service celebrating George's life at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 2, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I- 35 at 291 Highway, Liberty. Burial with military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to AMCSI (Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita Support, Inc.), P.O. Box 1883, Salyersville, KY 41465 (amcsupport.org). Specify in memory of George Rudder Sr. George was born Aug. 10, 1932 in Newton County, AR, the son of John Edward and Ollie (Freeman) Rudder. His 20-plus year career in the U.S. Air Force included service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following military retirement, he worked as an electronic technician. He was a member of Sheffield Family Life Center. Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, Garry Rudder; brothers, Delmar and John Rudder; sisters, Wanda Gunter and Jean Bradley. Survivors include his wife, Marcella; children, Monique (Rudder) Woodson, George Rudder Jr. and his wife Suzanne; daughter-in-law, Viola Rudder; grandchildren, Jesse, Andrea, Dillon, Collin, Haley and Mason; two great grandchildren; brother, Sidney Rudder; sisters, Jewell Gunter and Lula Farmer; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
