Wanda Gunter, age 80, of Russellville, died Monday, August 27, 2007 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late John Edward and Ollie Loretta Freeman Rudder, she was born October 31, 1926 near Hector. She grew up in the Ben Hur, Arkansas area, and traveled the world with her husband, Odell Gunter, while he was in the military. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1998. She was a lifetime member of the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 10612 in Pottsville. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar Rudder, and a sister, Virginia Bradley. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Harry and Kathleen Gunter of Russellville; and Keith and Teresa Gunter of Dover; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Sidney Rudder of Scottsville; Johnny and Maxine Rudder of Moore; and George and Marcie Rudder of Independence, Missouri; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Jewell and Kenneth Gunter of Independence; and Lou and Louis Farmer of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren: Charles Gunter and Katrina Gunter, both of Russellville; a great-granddaughter, Abbigale Shianne Jackson of Dardanelle; and a number of nieces and nephews, including Doug and Lee Bradley of Russellville.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Glendon Garrison. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery near Ben Hur, by Shinn Funeral Service.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., at the funeral home.
