He married (1) Alice Ann Marston Hill in a civil ceremony October of 1856 at Salt Lake City, Utah. Their first child, a son, Thomas Joseph Bloxham, was born 2 November 1857.
On 3 March 1858 they were sealed in an LDS ceremony at the Salt Lake City Endowment House. On 18 April 1859, their daughter, Lucy Ann, was born at Kaysville, Davis, Utah.
They later separated. Family lore is that Thomas left for the gold fields of California sometime in the 1860's and Alice did not hear from him again. After several years, he was assumed dead; or, it was believed that he had abandoned them.
Alice Ann married Thomas's younger brother, John Thomas Bloxham on 2 February 1867. They had 9 children, only four living to adulthood.
On 25 September 1877 Thomas Jr. married (2) Mary Mae Shelton at Red Bluff, Tehama, California. Their Tehama County Marriage Certificate documents that the "consent of the father of Miss Shelton is on file in this office" and that her mother, Mrs. Jane Shelton, was one of the witnesses of the marriage. The ages of the couple were sworn to be 28 years and 16 years, in reality, he was 43 and she, 13 years old.
Although Mary Mae was 30 years younger than Thomas, they were married for nearly 27 years.
Mary Mae and Thomas had nine children: John William, Zeller Martin, Emery, Josephine Maude, Warren Edward, Della, Leslie Thomas, Floyd Eli and Desta "Dessie" Bloxham.
His death notice was as follows:
DEATH OF THOS. BLOXHAM
Thomas Bloxham, who resided at Lyonsville, died there Sunday night. Early Monday morning A. J. Bogard received a telephone message requesting a livery rig to be sent out to meet the body on the road. The casket was conveyed down the Sierra Lumber Company's flume to McCoy's Road, within twelve miles of Red Bluff, where it was transferred to the waiting rig and reached here Monday afternoon. The widow, a daughter, and two sons arrived Tuesday from Lyonsville.
Mr. Bloxham had been seriously ill at Susanville and returned to Lyonsville in the hopes of recovery. He contracted pneumonia on the journey and Friday Dr. John Fife was summoned.
The deceased was about 70 years of age. A previous illness, combined with pneumonia and organic heart trouble proved too much for a weakened constitution.
After the death of Thomas, Mary Mae married Asberry J. Bandy of Red Bluff.
