Mrs. Hellen Fraley
Mrs. Hellen Fraley, 100, of Isonville, died Friday at her home. Mrs. Fraley was born Feb 11, 1887, in Elliott Co., a daughter of the late John B and Elizabeth (Isabelle) Ison Fraley. Her husband, Amos, preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mabel Ison of Burke and Pearl Fraley of Isonville; three sons; Orville Fraley of Isonville; Rasho Fraley and Glen Fraley, both of Sandy Hook; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 1pm Sunday at the Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook by the Rev Billy T Rice. Burial will be in the Fraley Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 5pm today at the funeral home.

Ma Fraley Celebrates 100th Birthday.
Helen Fraley celebrated her 100th birthday on Wednesday, Feb 11 1987 at her home at Isonville, KY. As usual she had a host of friends and family stopping by to wish her a "very Happy Birthday" and to bring food, gifts and flowers. Helen (Ma) received lots of beautiful cards also. She wishes to thank each and everyone for making her birthday a very special day for her. Also thanks to Sarah Lou Gillum, Nannie Adkins and her daughter, Pearl Fraley, for preparing a delicious dinner for her. Ma usually helps cook her dinner but decided since it was her 100th birthday she would sit down and let it be cooked for her. Helen (Ma) Fraley received two beautiful cakes. A cake baked by her grand-daughter, Patricia Fraley, was decorated in a basket of flowers design that would have lighted up anyone's eyes. The cake held in "Ma's" lap in the above picture is a cake sent by request of the late Glen Salyers. Glen had told Mary Lou Barnette if something happened to him before "Ma's" birthday, he wanted her to be sure a cake was sent to her from him and his wife, Lillie Adkins Salyers. Mr. Salyers died from a heart attack the week before Ma's birthday and his wish was carried out. Thank you Mary Lou from Ma and all of the family. Some of those dropping by throughout the day were: Mr. & Mrs. Bob Voyles and daughter, Gloria of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Mrs. Bernice Smith and sons, Clinton & Steve of Lorraine, Ohio; Charles Ison & Ella Bowling of Grayson; Mrs. nannie Adkins of Greenup; Mrs. Mable Ison, Mrs. Ann Redwine and two children of Burke; Mrs Armetta Fannin; Ms Patricia Fraley, Mrs. Laverne Fraley and Mrs. Zella Stegall of Sandy Hook; Mrs. Alma Faye Fraley and daughters; Mr. & Mrs. Frank Gillum, Mrs. Beaulah Johnson, Mrs. Mary Lou Barnette of Isonville. Willie Lewis & wife of Middle Fork; Beaulah Howard, Ronnie Howard and Nadine Fraley of Sandy Hook, Albert Gillum of Burke, Orville & Pearl Fraley of Isonville. Billie T. Rice of Grayson visited with Ma, Pearl and Orville on Sunday, Feb 15, after conducting the funeral of Ma's daughter-in-law, Nadine Fraley, wife of the late Arlie Fraley. Ma, we all wish you another good year and if love will help, you will have a lot of birthdays yeet to come because you are a very special person and loved by all. Pearl Fraley a very "Happy Birthday" to you also. Pearl celebrated her birthday on Sunday, Feb 8 1987.
