Sherry S. Crist, 41, 708 W Monroe St, Alexandria, died Monday at Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born in Anderson, she resided in Alexandria all of her life. She was a secretary in the Superintendents office of the Alexandria Community School Corp. She had also served as a computer instructor at Marie Thurston Elementary School.
A 1965 graduate of Alexandria Monroe High school, she had attended Ball State University. She was a member of St.Marys Catholic Church, a member of the Alexandria Athletic Boosters, and past officer of the Alexandria Girls Softball League.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Crist; one son Brett Crist, attending DePauw University, tow daughters Michelle Cist, attending Ball State University, and Marcy Crist at home; her parents, Wayne and Phyllis Bassett of Alexandria, and a brother, Dennis Bassett of Cincinnati.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church will be Father Phillip S Haslinger officiating. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery.
