He had been in declining health for the past eight weeks.
He was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Hyde Park, the son of the late Fred and Rena Smail Berry.
He had lived at his Gosser Hill residence the past 44 years and was formerly employed as a furnace operator on the No. 66 stress release line at the West Leechburg works of Allegheny Ludlum Steel where he retired on July 31, 1975 following 30 years of service.
He was of the Lutheran Faith and a member of the Retirees of United Steelworkers Local 1138 of Leechburg.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Grace Laura Airgood Berry; one son, William P. Berry, Allegheny Twp., two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Emma) Mills, West Leechburg, and Mrs. Walter (Patricia) Drozd, Allegheny Twp.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers Ted Berry, Gilpin Twp., and Harold Berry, Cleveland, Oh., and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Cooper, Hyde Park, and Mrs. Lloyd (Catherine) Beatty, Hyde Park.
He was preceeded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Friends are being welcomed by his family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Clawsons, Second at Main, Leechburg, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. James M. McCormick.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
