Sarah Jane Minto was a daughter of Scotch Parents. They immigrated to Ontario, Northumberland County, Warkworth in 1855. Sarah was born there in 1860. Sarah and her husband eloped in 1876. They left Canada by train, were married in New York, then took the train across the country to San Fransico, California. The rest of the journey was taken by ship to Oregon. Sarah was the mother of 11 children. She was valuable in the community in nursing people back to health.
