Albert Perdue Boykin was born April 21, 1920, in Atlanta. He was the youngest of four children of former Solicitor General John A. Boykin and Mrs. Julian Perdue Boykin. He was a 1938 graduate of Boys High and received his B.A. degree from the University of Georgia in 1942.

Albert Boykin was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, The Nine O' Clocks, Piedmont Driving Club and Atlanta First Presbyterian Church. He founded the insurance company that bore his name in 1947 and retired in 1985.

Albert Perdue Boykin departed this life on the 26th of December 1987 at the age of 67. He was laid to rest in the Boykin Family plot near his parents. He is survived by his only daughter, Elizabeth.
