Clyde married Allene Banks on 12 Dec 1936 in Berwyn (now Gene Autry), Carter County, Oklahoma. They were the parents of three children.
In his early years he worked at many different jobs and was willing to do almost anything to earn a living for his family.
Clyde was drafted into the US Army during World War II. He proudly served his country during that time. He was stationed at Camp Roberts, California, Camp Maxey, Texas and Fort McCellon, Alabama.
In 1948 he and Allene purchased a store in Gene Autry. It was called Haney Grocery and Station. He was still the owner until his death when his wife became the proprietor.
Other than the time spent in the US Army Clyde lived in the same area all of his life.
