Services for Howard Brock Haney will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Central Church of Christ with Jessie Whitlock and Robert L. Gregg officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Griffin-Kennedy-Watts Funeral Home.
Howard was born March 18, 1914, at Berwyn to Huban Harrison and Bertha Irene Brock Haney. He passed from this life March 28, 1997, at the age of 83 years and 10 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clyde, Marvin and R.J.; and a sister, Mary Alma Roberts.
He married Geneva Mae Carpenter Sept. 29, 1937, at Berwyn. Howard retired from Total Petroleum Company of Ardmore in 1977. He was a longtime farmer-rancher in Carter County near Ardmore. He served 14 years as an elder of the Central Church of Christ. He also served as a deacon of the Westside Church of Christ during a six-year residence in Duncan.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva, of the home; one son, Dr. Howard Wayne Haney and his wife, Karol, Lawton; two daughters, Patsy A. and her husband, Everett Bedford and Betty Jo and her husband, Dr. Steven Gregg, Duncan; eight grandchildren, Anthony W. Haney and Audra Haney, Stanley Bedford, David Bedford, Joe Pat Bedford, Charles Gregg, Amy Gregg and Sarah Gregg; two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Morgan Bedford; and his sister-in-law, Juanita Carpenter.
Bearers will be grandsons and David Johnson.
