Frances Elizabeth Dearybury Martin, 92, of Cowpens, died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born November 2, 1919, in Spartanburg County, she was the widow of Arthur M. "Buddy" Martin, and daughter of the late Overton Franklin and Elizabeth Waldrop Dearybury.

Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women, 55 Plus Club, and a choir member. She loved gardening, was a volunteer for Mobile Meals for many years, and was a member of the Cowpens Historical Society. During World War II she and her sisters, Amabel and Selma, formed the Dearybury Sisters, a singing group that performed on the radio, at various locations, and made records.

Surviving are her sisters, Joyce Dearybury Cascio of Irmo, S.C., and Estelle Dearybury Davis of Spartanburg, S.C.; and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.

September 1, 2012, Burial in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens.
