JESSIE MARIE GRISENTI

Jessie Marie Grisenti of Florence died in Canon City on Dec. 6 at the age of 87.
She was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Florence to Enos and Adelaide (Wilson) Blankenship.
She married Louis C. Grisenti Sr. on Feb. 21, 1944.
Mrs. Grisenti is survived by four children, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are sisters-in-law Luella Blankenship, Frances Blankenship and Shirley Blankenship.
She was the last member of the George Wilson pioneering family who established businesses in Florence in the late 1800's.
She was born and raised in Florence and was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church. She lived a simple life bringing much joy to her family with her cooking, crocheting and her passion for ceramics.
Jessie was a loving wife and partner to her husband on their dairy. Her zest for life was evident in her love for her husband, children grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers John, George and Charles; sisters Laura, Madeline and Eleanor and great-grandchildren Thor Smith and Bailey Smith.
Rosary recitation was Monday, Dec. 10 with a Funeral Mass at 10 am Tuesday, Dec. 11. Both services were held at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Florence, with Father Vicente Pas en la Casa officiating. Interment followed at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Florence or Penrose Volunteer Fire Department.
Services were under the direction of Charles Anthony Funeral Home in Florence.
