ADELAIDE BLANKENSHIP
Adelaide Blankenship, late of 1230 W. 2nd Street, died of a heart attack February 12, 1953. Born in Coal Creek, September 2, 1891 she was 62 years of age at the time of death. She was a member of the Christian Church and had lived in Florence all of her life.
She was married on December 14, 1910 to Enos M. Blankenship, who survives as do the following children:
Mrs. Laura Price of Florence, Mrs. Madelene Sudo of Rockvale, George Blankenship of Draggerton, Utah, Hohn Blankenship of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Jessie Grisenti, Mrs. Elanone Rogers and Charles Blankenship all of Florence. Also 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 16, 1953 from the Holt Memorial Chapel with the Rev. V. H. Bailey of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Mrs. Howard Lloyd, accompainied by Mrs. J. V. McCandless, sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Ivory Palaces" and "In the Garden."
Active pallbearers were Tom Wilson, Gus Vendetti Sr., John Bugher, Sperlon Burgett, Andy Sudo and Bill Rogers. Honary were John Brassea, Jess Hall and Earl Sumptner.
Mrs. Virginia Graham, Mrs. Mary Cingoranelli, Mrs. John Brassea, Mrs. J. V. McCandless and Mrs. Ed Thornton were in charge of flowers.
Interment was in Union Highland Cemetery.
