Darl H. Blake, 86, of Sheffield Lake, formerly of Grafton, WV, passed away, suddenly at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, Lorain, Saturday, June 2, 2007. Mr. Blake was born July 5, 1920 in Grafton, WV and had lived in Sheffield Lake the past 32 years. Mr. Blake worked in the Central Spares, Parts Department at US Steel, Lorain for 30 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Prior to the War he received electrical training from the Civilian Conservation Corp. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering. He was describe by his family as someone who could fix anything especially small engines and electrical appliances.
Mr. Blake is survived by his daughter, Sueann Goodwin of Lorain; son, Bill Blake of Sheffield Lake; grandson, Darin McCord (Nikki) of Seth, WV; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Renee, Darin Michael, Dylan Levi and Dakota Thomas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Annalee (nee Tisler); his parents, Arthur and Flora (nee Duckworth) Blake; five sisters; and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Wednesday, June 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral Service will be on Thursday at a time to be announced.
