Carl Bamert, age 88, of Muleshoe, TX died August 24, 2012, in Lubbock, TX. He was born July 25, 1924, to Fred and Verona (Haire) Bamert in Las Cruces, NM.
He married Cookie Coogler in Las Cruses, NM on August 20, 1947. She preceded him in death on November 11, 2000. Carl married Jenny Vaught in Dallas, TX on February 1, 2002.
Carl served in the Army Air Corp during WWII from 1943-1945. Carl had been a resident of Muleshoe since 1947 moving from Las Cruces, NM. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Muleshoe. Carl was an entrepreneur and owned and operated Bamert Seed Company from 1951 to 1999. He had served on the Muleshoe ISD School Board, the Bailey County Electric Coop Board, the Muleshoe Coop Gin Board, and on the Texas Seed Trade Assn. Board. Carl's family was selected as the Bailey County Farm Family of the year in 1987.
Carl is survived by his wife Jenny of Lubbock, TX; one son, Nick Bamert and wife Rayniel of Muleshoe, TX; one daughter, Greta Hillin of Weaverville, NC; one step-son, Jim Vaught of Childress, TX; one step-daughter, Brenda Begin of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Nadine Dawson of Las Cruces, NM; four grandchildren, Misty Hillin, Reese Hillin, Brett Bamert, and Austin Bamert; two step-grandchildren, Trent Begin and Ryan Begin; two great-grandchildren Julia Hillin and Hunter Hillin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one Brother Fred Bamert.
