Nadine Bamert Dawson, 88 years old, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away October 16th, 2022. Nadine was born in Las Cruces, NM to Fred and Verona Bamert on January 4th, 1934. She attended San Francisco State University, NMSU, and Arizona Community College. Nadine was a teacher for several years, working on the Navajo, Hopi, and Pima Reservation. She was also very knowledgeable on Native American arts & crafts and traveled extensively, giving educational lectures, and wholesaling Native American jewelry to retailers across the country. She loved playing Bridge, bowling, painting, and swimming. She cherished her family and spent all her free time with her grandchildren.
Nadine had a personality that made a lasting impression on everyone that knew her. Her joy for life was contagious and she gave so much happiness to her family and friends. She was energetic, quick to laugh, and her sense of humor would always brighten your day. More than anything, she loved her family with all her heart. She was the first person to lend a helping hand if someone was in need.
Nadine is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years Lester Dawson, her parents Fred and Verona Bamert, her brothers Carl and Fred Bamert, and her son Jay Bamert Dawson.
Nadine is survived by her daughter Renee Peterson, 5 grandchildren Steve Dawson, Dale Dawson, Matt Dawson, Chad Peterson, and Shelli Smith, as well as several great and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Steve Dawson, Dale Dawson, Matt Dawson, Chad Peterson, Case Peterson, and Michael Smith.
