Elizabeth A. Bywaters Burwell, 92, of Villa St. Joseph, Baden, formerly of Brighton Township and Beaver, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in Villa St. Joseph. Born March 29, 1910, in Fairfield, VA, a daughter of the late Stuart Alexander and Maude Agnes Weeks Chittum.

She was a retired licensed practical nurse having worked at the Rochester General Hospital and later the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center. She was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Bywaters and Harry Burwell; a daughter, Myra Lynn Dishler; a son, Gary Keith Bywaters; two grandsons, Patrick Stuart Dwyer and William L. Bywaters; two sisters, and two brothers.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William L. and Florence Bywaters, New Brighton; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Bob Sloppy, Koppel; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Edwin Chittum, Norfolk, VA; a sister, Faye Lynn Webb, Hyattsville, Md., and a sister-in-law, Frances Ann Chittum.

A service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third St., Beaver, by her minister, the Rev. Ralph Cotten. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.
