Mrs. John C. Kohl, 78, prominent Nasonville resident and pioneer, died about 9 o'clock last night at her home at Nasonville following an illness of several weeks. She had been in poor health for the past two years. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, pending the arrival of her sons tonight.
Mrs. Kohl, nee Anna Behling, was born on Sept. 1, 1858, in Pommerania, near Stettin, Germany, and came to this country in 1875, settling near Neillsville. Four years later, on Aug. 10, 1879, she was married there to John C. Kohl, Kohlsville.
Mrs. Kohl is survived by three children, Mrs. Morris (Emma) Van de Bogart, New Denver, British Columbia; Edwin P. Kohl, New York City and Washington, D.C.; and Leo Kohl, Harrisburg, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Henry Behling, Chili; and one half-sister, Mrs. Marie Wheeler, Green Bay.
Mr. Kohl preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1932. Five children, Louise, Amanda, Ida, William, and Elsbeth, all preceded her in death.
