WELDEN, JAMES MATTHEW - age 69 of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012. James loved the Lord and was a loving husband and father. He had a great love for his grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, cousins and friends. James loved the outdoors and was a craftsman by trade. His joy of being a carpenter made him happy because his friend Jesus was a carpenter. A member of Long Hollow Baptist Church and a life long home builder. Preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Gracie Welden; brothers, Thurman Welden, Steve Welden; sisters, Irene Welden, Bertha Guy, Joyce Kennedy. Survivors: wife: Jane Welden; sons and daughters-in-law: Lonnie and Tammy Welden; Darryl and Jami Welden, Kevin and Sandy Welden, Shawn and Stacey Welden; grandchildren: Mallory, Donavan and wife Megan, Dustin, Matthew, Samuel, Sarah Grace, Morgan, Jacob, Haley, Nathan and Abigail; great grandchildren: Collin and Madison; brothers and sisters: Alda Taylor, Mildred Murray, Bobby Sue Dobbs, Barbara Brandenburg, Linda Shelton, Hannah Greene. Funeral Services 8:00 p.m. Sunday, Cherry Bottom Baptist Church. Rev. Rick Howard and Rev. Aaron Welden officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sunrise Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Campbell Co. Cancer Association, P.O. Box 122, Jacksboro, Tennessee 37757. Family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Cherry Bottom Baptist Church. Arrangements by Cross-Smith Funeral Home, LaFollette.
