FUNERAL OF LOCAL WOMAN TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
In failing health the past two years, Mrs. Mary R. Baker, 55, lifelong resident of Streator, died at 3:15 o'clock Sunday afternoon in her home, 1006 E. Bridge St.
Final rites will be conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Elias funeral home and burial will take place in South Emery Green cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of the service.
The former Mary Wahl, daughter of the late Nicholas and Kathryn (Williams) Wahl, was born in Bruce township September 17, 1894. Her marriage to H. Leslie Baker took place in this city March 16, 1916, and he survives, together with five children, Florence, Marjorie, Floyd and Norman, at home, and Leslie Jr., Streator; and one grandson, Leslie Baker III. Mrs. Baker was a member of First Baptist church and the Woman's Missionary Society.
Also left are two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Peters (Anna) of Wood River and Mrs. John Centko of Streator, and seven brothers, Peter, Frank, James, Nick, John and William of Streator and Charles Wahl of Cornell. Two sisters and two brothers are deceased.

Mary Baker Rites Are Conducted By Rev. Harry Sabin
Rev. Harry Sabin, pastor of First Baptist church, officiated at final rites Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Elias funeral home for Mrs. Mary R. Baker who died Sunday morning in her home, 1006 E. Bridge St. Mr. and Mrs. George Hood sang two numbers, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Andrew Cali. Burial was made in South Emery Green cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arthur Dixon, Robert Hyatt, Matthew Korstick, Anthony Korstick, Walter Teas and Herbert Holz. In charge of the flowers were Mesdames Francis Werner, Edward Jacoby, R. Bockman, Robert Hyatt, Walter Wahl, and Miss Helen Vargas.
Attending from other cities were Mrs. Andrew Peters of Wood River, Mr. and Mrs. John Lucas of and family, Cicero, and relatives and friends from the surrounding communities.
