Rogene Bales (Hawkins) Davis, age 81, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, died on December 28, 2011 in Rapid City, SD.

She was born to Alfred and Aletha (Kane) Bales on June 11, 1930 in Simla, CO. Rogene was a 1948 graduate of Colorado Springs High School. For the past 15 years she resided in Hot Springs, SD. Rogene is survived by her husband of 19 years, John Davis, her daughter Pamela Cooley (Jack) and son's Richard Hawkins (Debbie), Steven Hawkins (Jolie), David Hawkins and Daniel Hawkins (Cindy). Also surviving, her brother Merle Bales and her sister Marilyn Koch (Harlan). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and their 7 spouses, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joe Hawkins and two brothers Alvin (Punky) and Marvin Bales (wife Doris survives). Rogene was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and had a great love for the Creator Jehovah God and strong faith in the Bible's hope of resurrection to a paradise earth. She will be missed tremendously by her many friends and large family. At her request there will be no memorial service.
