Mrs. Susan Weinert Brookhyser of 719 Washington St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday
morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been confined a
month.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Susan Weinert was born in Germany, daughter of the late John and
Emily Windish Weinert. She came to the United States as a young girl with her
parents, settling at Sheboygan, later moving to Kewaunee before establishing
residence at Manitowoc. She was married in July of (line distorted, can't read)
in 1947. In 1949, she was married to Capt. George Brookhyser of Springdale,
Ark. He died in the same year. Mrs. Brookhyser was a member of the Germania
Society.
Surviving her are three brothers, Harvey, Sig and Hans, and a sister, Miss
Emma Weinert; of Manitowoc and a number of nieces and nephews. A brother,
Fred, died in 1952.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
