In 1860 Margaret St. Martin was living with the Scofield (Schofield) family, in Lafayette, Chippewa, Wisconsin.

Margaret St. Martin married Robert Edward McKay in 1868. Born to the couple were eight children of which three lived to adulthood; Anna Elizabeth McKay married George Michael Barrington, Eva Catherine McKay married Alfred Henry O'Connell and Robert Francis McKay married Florence McGrath. Margaret was a self educated woman, very intelligent and a very nice lady. I was told that one day, one of the babies stumbled into a bull pin. Margaret was able to save her child, but a bull gouged one of her eyes out. Margaret had also developed a severe case of diabetes.

In 1920 Margaret St. Martin McKay was living with her daughter, Anna McKay Barrington and her granddaughter Lillian Barrington. Frank McKay (Robert Francis) and his family were living near his sister Anna.

Eau Claire Leader, May 14, 1922: "Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mercier attended the funeral of Mrs. R. E. McKey at Drywood Monday. The deceased was an aunt to Mrs. Mercier." Mrs. Albert Mercier (Agnes Beaudin Mercier) was the daughter of Louise St. Martin and Cesaire Beaudin. Louise St. Martin was the sister to Margaret St. Martin McKay.
