She was born Nov. 20, 1938 at Arrington, the daughter of Roland and Lucille Estelle Bingham Abramson. She was a 1956 graduate of Atchison County Community High School, Effingham, and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Nortonville. Cora worked as a meat packer for Oldham's Sausage Company in Holton for 26 years, retiring in 2005.
She was married to Thomas Darel Kearney on Feb.13, 1957, they later divorced. She was married to Emil Rathert at Valley Falls on July 8, 1969, and they later divorced. She is survived by two sons, Joe (Sheila) Kearney, Rob (Rhonda) Kearney, one daughter, Sherry Kearney, all of Valley Falls, two brothers, Charles Abramson, Holton, Leslie Abramson, Surf Side Beach, S.C., one sister, Judy Hedden, Topeka, 12 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, L. "Rex" Kearney, and two sisters, Helen McBroom, and Dora Sabo.
Graveside Inurnment Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug.15, at Larkinburg Cemetery, Larkinburg.
