(ABANDA) Loys Elder, 89, of Abanda died Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Care Center of Opelika.
Mr. Elder was born in LaGrange, Ga., on Dec. 10, 1908. He was retired from the Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Company after 52 years of service as a salesman. He was a
member of New Hope Christian Church of Chambers County and served as Sunday school superintendent for 45 years.
Funeral services were at New Hope Christian Church on Saturday, May 2, at 3 p.m., with interment in the church cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. Phillip Gore and the Rev. John Cole.
Surviving are his wife, Inez Elder of Abanda; two sons, Tom Elder of Frisco, Texas, and Jim Elder of Gastonia, N.C.; one step-son, Larry Burdette of Wadley; one brother, Dewey Elder of LaFayette; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Sanders Funeral Home, LaFayette.
