Dewey Elder.

(LAFAYETTE) Funeral services for Dewey Elder, 85, of LaFayette were Monday, April 26, 1999, at 4 p.m. CDT at New Hope Christian Church in Chambers County with the Rev. Wayne Greathouse officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
Mr. Elder died Saturday, April 24, at his residence.
A native of Chambers County, Mr. Elder was born Aug. 7, 1913. He was retired from the Electrolux Corporation after 50 years of service and led the singing at New Hope
Christian Church for more than 50 years. He was also a Mason.
Survivors include two stepsons, Rev. Wayne Greathouse of West Point, Ga., and Ronald Greathouse of Opelika; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff Jones Funeral Home, LaFayette, was in charge of arrangements.
