Merwyn C. Deets

GARFIELD - Merwyn C. Deets, 57, Garfield, died Thursday evening at the Garfield Coop after a heart attack. Born Dec. 12, 1912, at Garfield, he married Nadine Nauert Dec. 31, 1935, at Larned. Besides working for the co-op he was a farmer. He had been a lifelong resident here. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Garfield.

Survivors include the widow; son: Don, of the home; daughters: Mrs. Russell Bird, Rozel; Mrs. Dennis Echard, Augusta, Ga.; Janet of the home; brothers: Austin, Wellington; Ray, Dexter; Milton, Great Bend; sisters: Mrs. Raymond Godfrey, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Inez Darst, Dodge City; Mrs. John Couchman, Mrs. Velma Rains and Mrs. Mildred Hathaway, all of Garfield; four grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned; Rev. A. E. Beardslee. Burial will be in Garfield Cemetery. Friends may call until service time at the mortuary.
